Membership Explained

Membership dues support our chapter, enabling us to provide valuable resources and opportunities for enhancing your organization’s risk management practices. Your dues help fund our website, spring education session, annual fall conference, and connections with a vast network of public risk management professionals.

As a member, you'll enjoy benefits such as participation in sub-committees, eligibility for the Oregon PRIMA Board, the Risk Management Achievement Award, access to the Risk Management Certification Program, and reduced registration fees for our sponsored events!

Please note that membership is tied to your entity or organization. Before signing up as a new member, check if your entity is already a member, as you may qualify to join as an additional member at no extra cost.

IMPORTANT:  Please be aware that Oregon PRIMA chapter membership dues and National PRIMA membership dues are separate and not inclusive of each other.

Chapter membership is open year-round.  Oregon PRIMA understands the challenges of maintaining existing service levels despite reduced budgets; we hope that you will find the expenditure for annual dues worth its value many times over.  There are two categories of membership:

(1) Affiliate Member Category:

This category consists of organizations or individuals that do not qualify for the Government Member category.  Affiliate members do not carry voting privileges.  Affiliate members may not hold office in the Chapter, but are entitled to all other benefits of membership.

(2) Government Member Category:

This category applies to governments, government entities, political subdivisions, or public entity risk pools.  The entity may designate one voting representative who must be primarily responsible for risk management within their employing governmental entity.  The entity is considered the member and only one membership fee is due regardless of the number of representatives from the entity. The annual dues for a government member are dependent upon the population they serve, determined by the most recent U.S. Census figures.

To better serve our members, a medium government entity category has been added, as well as a new category for those entities that do not fit within a traditional local government structure. This will include special districts (defined as those that hold membership under SDAO and/or PACE), school districts, or individuals.  With regard to individuals, this designation is also intended for those who may work for a public entity operating in another state (i.e. Washington) or someone who may not currently be working for a public entity but wants to maintain membership for networking and education purposes.

Oregon PRIMA Membership

Affiliate Member $175
Government Member (S) - Serving a population of 49,999 people or less $100

Government Member (L) - Serving a population of 100,000 or more $175
Special District/School District/Individual $100

Additional Members:

This category consists of employees of Government Members other than the designated voting representative. The base membership rate applies to the first five (5) members of your entity, with an additional fee based on six (6) or more additional members. It is not required that additional members be primarily responsible for risk management for the entity.  Though each entity may only have one voting representative, additional members of the entity are entitled to all other benefits of membership.

Entities with 1-5 members Base membership price
Entities with 6-10 members $25 additional charge
Entities with 11-15 members $50 additional charge
Entities with 16+ members $100 additional charge
